Painting Pure Michigan

I love how the light and colors on Lake Huron constantly change, and want to share this beauty with you through my original paintings. From the water, rocks and sandy beaches, to the woodlands nearby, each painting depicts this wonderful landscape in bright colors using a limited palette and expressive brushwork.

About us

Sheri Waldrop is a painter of nature most recognized for her use of color and incorporating light into her acrylic and oil paintings.

Her inspiration comes from hiking through the woods and marshes near the shores of Lake Huron in northeast Michigan, where she currently lives. Her passion is to depict the amazing range of colors and soft, subtle nuances of light seen in water reflections, plants and the wildlife she frequently encounters in this rich and diverse – and still relatively untouched
-environment.

“I want people to understand how important it is to preserve this type of habitat, which supports so many plants and animals, by helping them fall in love with how beautiful it is through my paintings.”

Her paintings can be seen at several galleries throughout Michigan and Kansas, including Blue Heron Gallery (Elk Rapids, MI), Hanni Gallery (Harbor Springs,MI), and Cider Gallery (Lawrence, KS).
